I really love watching all of David Attenborough’s science programmes about nature and the Earth, I think those ones are amazing, especially all the clever ways they film the animals and things.

I really enjoy the engineering programmes – Mighty Ships is really good, and the Mighty Planes, but I aloso like the nature and space programmes.

I live Dara O Briain’s Science Club – it’s interesting because you always learn something, and sometimes they do crazy experiments on it! Also they get scientists to talk about things, and sometimes they totally disagree!

Other than that, I also love David Attenborough’s programmes. My recent favourite was Africa – beautiful wilderness and animals!

Not many. Why? because they are not really about science, They are about making watchable TV programs. I am sure you have watched many of these and seen birds, crocodiles, elephants and many more. Apart from their behaviour can you remember whether you learnt how birds fly, how crocodiles regulate their body temperature, how many knees does an elephant have? I am sure you have watched other programs about the universe. From these do you know the speed of light, how gravity is curved and how the sun gives out light? Most of these programs have very little science content. I suppose the great hope would be that they would stimulate more people to do science. Alas that has not happened. If you watch programs on wild life in Africa you might think that a trip to the game reserves would allow you to see leopards, lions, cheetas, wild dogs buffalo all in a day and all accompanied by awful music rather than the natural sounds of the veldt. I’ve never heard music out in the wild!, It is claimed these programs are educational, yet there are no figures to show whether this claim is correct.
