Sadly no! I would really like to, but I don’t do that much research on dinosaurs, mostly on other types of animals. Dinosaur fossils are only found in certain places, so can be quite hard to find. There is a place in Utah in the USA where they have a site where they work on digging up dinosaur fossils every summer, and a similar place in Argentina. Hopefully I will get to go to one of those places soon!
Hey, have you found any before? I’ve found fossil mammal bones and fossil fish bones and other things but never a dinosaur bone. If you want to find a dinosaur bone you usually need to go to a place that you know is a place you’re likely to find them. Just like if you go to the Jurassic coast in England you’re likely to find ammonites or mammals, there are places in the US and Argentina and China where you’re likely to find dinosaurs (although there are some places in the UK too!). The research group that I am in doesn’t do any work on dinosaurs, they mainly study fish or extinct reptiles like plesiosaurs, so we don’t go to the places that are good for dinosaurs because they’re not really what we are looking for. Dinosaurs are very cool but they were only one group out of lots of really interesting types of animals that are now extinct, so lots of palaeontologists never study them or find a dinosaur bone at all!
