Hmmm, good question. I don’t really know how curly hair works, but I do know it is passed down from your parents in your DNA! Your DNA is made up of a mix of some of your mums DNA and some of your dads DNA…that mix will determine what your hair is like (including the colour), your eye colour, and lots of other things that make you you!
The very first humans thousands of years ago all had curly hair, then some humans had a genetic mutation that meant that they had straight hair, both of these types of genes for hair have continued to be passed on from generation to generation, it just so happens that you have inherited some genes for curly hair from your parents!
I have no idea, but I have naturally curly hair, my mum’s have a slight wave to it and my dad’s is dead straight. I used to hate having curly hair when I was young but now I really like it, you can get some lovely serums and cream to make is soft and glossy so you can have a nice style. One of my children has curly hair too, he is called Alexander!
