• Question: What's the most interesting fossil you have seen?

      That’s a tricky question, its hard to choose! I think it would have to be a fossil of Archaeopteryx that I saw when I got to go behind the scenes into the museum store rooms in the Natural History Museum in London. Archaeopteryx is an amazing fossil because it has lots of features that modern birds have like feathers and special bones that the muscles they use for flying attach to, but also lots of features that dinosaurs had like a tail and teeth. It’s one of the main pieces of evidence we have that birds evolved from dinosaurs. There are only 11 fossils of Archaeopteryx that have ever been found so obviously it is very valuable. I felt very privileged to get to see the one they keep at the NHM becasue not many people get to see it.
