• Question: What types of electronic devices do you manufacture?

      It’s not really needed in my research, but sometimes I like up multiple electronic devices (made by other people) to help me with my fieldwork.

      When I was in Kenya last year I had a GPS connected to my laptop…the GPS uses signals from satellites to tell me exactly where I am on a map – this then sends through to a laptop, and appears on top of a map, so that I can follow where I am and record information right on top of the map. It’s a bit like a sat nav, but you can include whatever maps you want and save lots of information as you go along! I was following our route on a satellite image – which looks like a photograph taken from space!
