No I have never thought of quitting my job. What I do, is quit any project I find boring. I then try to think up a new problem which will really interest me. There are so many unanswered questions that it is always possible to find a new fascinating problem on which to work

I always thought diseases were really interesting, so I wanted to do something to do with that! Sometimes I feel like quitting my job when my work gets very difficult, but usually I go home, take my mind off of it, then go back to work the next day feeling much better. I don’t think I would ever quit my job as I do really love it!

I wanted to be working in science becasue I found learning about how the Earth works really interesting. So I’ve just kept on studying the things I found interesting and ended up doing my own research on it, and finding out new things for myself that no one else knows, which is really exciting. Sometimes when you’re doing research your experiment doesn’t work properly, or something breaks and you can’t figure out why and it can be very frustrating. When that happens though I always go read about something new and interesting, and get excited about what I’m studying again. Doing that often helps me figure out why my experiment didn’t work and then I can start again and it works the next time around! I don’t ever really want to quit even when it’s hard because I always want to solve the problem with my experiments, it’s like a puzzle.

At first I didnt know, but I knew I wanted to be in a lab doing something on the body. I fell into my job quite by accident, I sent a letter in saying I wanted to work in a lab…forgot about it, then I received a letter back inviting me to an interview. I didn’t have the internet back then so didn’t actually know what histology was or what job I was actually going for. But I was shown around the lab, I was shown a bucket that contained a uterus. It was that moment I fell in love with pathology, and I knew I would make it my home.

Many years ago, yes I felt like quitting my job, not because I didn’t like my job anymore but because of a person. I went to work in a different hospital and I’m really happy where I am.
