  I don’t think that there is a special name for the theory, but scientists are pretty sure now that we did evolve from fish. We can follow all the important transitions that show the chain of animals from fish to us, obviously we can’t find every species that was between us and fish in the chain of evolution but we have found enough to be pretty sure. So some of our most recent ancestors in evolution were apes, but before that there was a much longer chain of evolution through many different things that came from fish.
