I got some money which lets me work in another university for up to a year – pretty cool! I picked Australia because there is a team working on similar things to what I do in Brisbane, but I didn’t want to spend a whole year away from my husband, so I am here for 3 months.

While I am here I am looking at the spatial distribution of diseases, including malaria – I’ll look at the areas that the diseases exist and compare that with environmental data, like temperature, rainfall and landcover. That way, we can work out how the environment influences the transmission of diseases. I’m really here to get help from the research team – they have a lot more experience than I do, so I am trying to learn as much as I can before i go home again.
