Everything that lives ages. we are kept alive by many, many chemicals in the body including hormones. As we age the relationships between all these chemicals tend to age. The problem is to determine how these chemicals change relative to each other. Think of people in a stadium as being chemicals interacting with other. You see that there many, many interactions going on at the same time. Now try in the body where there are equally complex interactions to work out which interactions are key to the process of ageing. That is the task biologists face. It takes very clever experiments and clever people to work this out. Alas, we still know very little about the fundamentals of ageing. This is a topic waiting for someone – maybe you.
