I dont think so really, we have a good team and we all know what we’re doing. It can be hard work perhaps if we have a lot of samples to get through, because we do each one by hand. But if we have so many that we can’t deal with all of them, then we can leave some for whoever is running the next prep session.

Sometimes we get sent wee and stuff late in the day when we can’t do anymore and we put it in the fridge and do it in the morning.

I dont think it’s hard work in a ‘arrghh I can’t cope’ sort of way, but it can be hard work in an emotional way. Sometimes you have to read patients history or clnical data in able to help you do your job, and sometimes it can be upsetting to read. You sometimes relate yourself to that person because maybe they are the same age, or the same age as your child, and sometimes children get very sick and that is the hardest part of all.
