• Question: Is it true that when you die your brain still keeps on thinking for 7 minuits and is that why they say that you life flashes before your eyes?

      After your heart has stopped beating and you are no longer breathing, your brain will keep on working for a while – maybe about 7-10 minutes. Im not really sure what is going on in your brain during this time…perhaps this is when your life flashes before or eyes, or you have a dream like experience – I suppose this is why some people who have had “near death experiences” sometimes say that they saw a light, or that they had some sort of experience when their heart had stopped.

      Yeah what is currently thought is just what Nicola has said. I doubt it’s any conscious thought activity though – that would be a bit rubbish, I dont want to die and be thinking about it.
