That’s a hard question to answer, the biggest difficultly with helping people with cancer is that there are so many different types, so trying to find a cure means trying to find a cure for hundreds or thousands of different things. Also even if we did that, new types of cancers would arise so it’s probably going to be a constant battle.

Scientists are constantly coming up with new amazing ways of treating cancer, and this has meant that survival rates for lots of different types of cancer have gone up a lot in the past decade or so. Some now have amazing survival rates of above 90%, but others are still very deadly and we haven’t even gotten close to finding a cure for them, especially if they are not caught early.

Lots of amazing researchers are discovering potential new treatments but it takes a long time, things are much better now than they were just a short time ago though!
