Sort of, yes. I remember when I was in my final years in school I was between torn between studying for physics or computer science. They both count as science, right?

So what I did was to do a degree in both! At the end of the day I prefer to refer to myself as a physicist, but the skills that I have acquired in my computer science degree has helped me become a better scientist.

Well when I was really young I couldn’t decide between ballet dancer, boxer and marine biologist, so in my imagination I was all 3! When I was about 13 my teachers thought I wasn’t very clever, so then I thought I’d join the army. By the time I was about 15 I realised I could go to university if I wanted, so it was then that I decided on some sort of biology subject.

I didn’t no, I always found science really interesting, but didn’t really like science lessons in school. I enjoyed doing a lot of different things when I was younger so it took me a long time to choose something. For a long time I wanted to study music, and then then geography. As it turned out I ended up studying geology which is very similar to some parts of geography. When I started studying geology I found it way more interesting and fun than anything I’d done before, so I just carried on doing it!
