No, I didn’t think that it would. People thought that it might because the Mayan people had made a calender and it stopped in 2012, however some archaeologists found out that the Mayans made their calenders in cycles and 2012 was just the end of a cycle, they just hadn’t bothered to draw on the beginning of the next cycle because it was so long away! People predict that the world will end quite a lot, but so far they’ve all been wrong, obviously that doesn’t mean it can’t happen though. I think I would believe it only if they had really good evidence for it though.
I saw this really funny picture on Facebook. It was a Mayan making his calendar, and he was working on 2012. His mate comes along and asks if he’s going to the bar? He replies, ‘yeah but I haven’t finished my work’. His mate says ‘Dont worry it’s hardly the end of the world’. I did laugh.
There have been quite a few people claim the end of the world is such and such a date. I think I have survived 5 end of the worlds so far.
Sure, I went out and bought what I thought would be my final ice cream. Imagine how surprised i was on the New Years Day that I could have another brown bread ice cream!
